Welcoming New Church Members Letters

Hey hey, my my, Rock and Roll can never die..

Rival Sons – Rival Sons - Earache Records 2011 . Ho pianto la morte di John Bonham e il conseguente dissolution of one of the most seminal groups in rock history. Well listening to Rival Sons I savor some youthful emotions. Some people have compared them to Free . Indeed, in their music is an air of classic rock. I remember the very fury of the first hard-blues Led Zeppelin , but also the ruthlessness of rhythmic Who (Live At Leeds period) and the aroma of the southern Black Crowes . Besides the excellent guitarist Scott Holiday (always at the service of the song with his powerful riffs and ready to stain the pieces with a slide that smacks of Delta) does not hide their influences: the old blues ( Muddy Waters, Leadbelly , Howlin 'Wolf ), soul ( Stax & Motown ) and some of the 60's British groups like the Small Faces, the Who and, indeed, the first Led Zeppelin . The singer Jay Buchanan, with a voice of Paul Rodgers and Robert Plant, is the added value that makes a great rock band, his warm throat can be, depending on your needs, powerful sharply or gently profound. The base rhythm, represented by good Robin Everhart on bass and Michael Miley on drums, is a concentration of precision and recklessness. Be careful not to think that kids are only slavish imitators: they actually have talent to sell and, while paying homage to the music that influenced them, they can create their own original sound. They are credible because they exude honesty and passion, their energy is pure rock, damn contagious. So let overwhelmed by the vehemence hard to Get What's Coming from zeppeliniane Torture and Radio (with a great Scott to six strings), the boiling Soul (just over 6 minutes of rock blues and devastating rough as a diamond does not work), and the sweet sound Sacred Tongue from fireworks Sleepwalker (dove i Free jammano con gli Zep ). Io vi ho avvertito…
