Weird Italy

Dopo aver parlato in questi mesi di Fauve, Dilatazione e Iosonouncane continuiamo il nostro viaggio lungo le impervie strade di quell’Italia che musicalmente osa e non si arrende; piccole storie laterali ed oblique del belpaese composte e arrangiate da artisti delle 7 note svincolati dalla logica delle mode e delle facili scorciatoie. L’Italia che resiste e persiste (e, vivadio, esiste).


Tesla Everybody is trained between the square and the rickety, between the dreamy and fun, of Sardinian origin who has just released for the fledgling label o2s 01 (we are in the territories Here I Stay Festival), the self-titled debut EP with a first run in 50 cassettes (tapes). 5 tracks, including the jaunty and pleased that surprise by their freshness, each consisting of mostly synthetic sounds and play with the help of .. Kaoss Pad, Micokorg, toy keyboards, SP-404, kazoo, cajon, ukulele, samplers, keyboard, Casio amended, MPC 500 (to quote the notes that accompany the release). Bee Twin Mountain is a dark and grim, danceable track that would dwarf Fuck Buttons, with accompanying music boxes and the little voices in the background that they know of ancestral horror, even the most "sun" of the song (and the mini in toto) are always dirty and soiled by unforeseen factors and "annoying." Fred is right recalls mellows the more electronic Mum (Finally We Are No One song seems to reference) but the rhythm makes us pretty tough to go back to suburban scenarios and bullhead. In Narval and Sleep Here it also tries to create a more song form classica. Il dream pop shoegazin’ della prima non s’interpone con lo stile tribale e animalcollettivistico della seconda, cantata appunto in stile Panda Bear (forse un po’ troppo?), due modi insomma di interpretare la forma-canzone con intenti simili e risultati differenti. Gli Everybody Tesla, alla fine dei salmi,  hanno rilasciato un incantevole (mini)disco liquido e frammentario ma con un’ottima compattezza di base. Gli El Guapo 2.0.   28/30


La giuliva sguaiatezza dada dei ragazzi sardi fa da perfetto contrappunto ad un album serioso, disperato ed elegiaco come quello dei ManzOni Di tutt’altro genere, latitudine e anagrafe si parla qui;  in comune la medesima volontà di rottura e di aggressione nei confronti dell’ascoltatore che prende appunto spunto - nel caso degli ultimi - dall’artista alla quale la band si ispira nel nome (Piero, mi raccomando).  Sono di Chioggia e vengono capitanati dal 57enne semi-esordiente cantante e poeta Gigi Tenca che si riscopre in tarda età frontman di una band già ultratrentenne ma di una vivacità  e intensità rara ai tempi nostri. Loser fiero e convinto, Tenca  si pregia di un cantato teatrale e minimalista  that rests on the foundations bluesy skinny and nebulae. Fragments of life on a piece of music that is (post) rock. Singing Drunken disillusioned suburban reminiscent Arab Strap, Vic Chesnutt and thinking at home, Silkworms Stone. The album is self-titled, self produced and released on December 10. Among the most important songs of the lot: What there will be minimal a lullaby for adults just reconciled the faint hope of a life without hope. Scappi a melancholy ballad about memories simple and sung by a Cerasuolo who smoked too much and is aged no hurry since the last time we left! In You know the pace obsessive glides slowly to the beat of clanging guitar that increase the frenzied atmosphere of the song. The ship ends up in a post-rock and obtuse red balloons yougiani in guitar leads, and I write ... is fully Velvetiana: fry up screaming guitars reminiscent of the CCCP! Disco essential in times of despair and lean. 29/30
